Our last week topic left some wondering ways we should naturally take care of our skin. I’m sure you’ve seen many companies advertising natural products on their pages but you aren’t convinced if they will give you the result you required or how natural the result will be as they claim they are. One thing you should understand is that there are many natural ingredients used to make a particular product. Someone with a dark skin type should know if not all but some of the ingredient used to produce skin care products that are best suitable for them, also a light skin person should be abreast of the ingredient used to make those products that are perfect for their skin type.
Today, we will be laying more emphasis on:
- Dark skin glow and essential ingredients used to manufacture such products
- Light world up and also essential ingredients used to manufacture those products
- How these ingredients helps your skin and also gives you that perfect glow you deserves.
DARK SKIN PRODUCTS AND THEIR ESSENTIALS.
1. Black soap
Black soap is generally made from locally harvested African plants such as plantain, cocoa pods, palm tree leaves and shea tree bark. The ingredients are sun-dried and roasted, which is how it gets its deep color. Water and oils such as coconut, palm and shea butter are then added. Black soap is used as a solution for breakouts, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, and everything in between. It’s antibacterial, It’s safe for all skin types, It’s moisturizing, It reduces skin oiliness, It helps soothe irritation and It’s anti-inflammatory.
2. Lemon
Lemon are popular ingredient in home care products due to their antibacterial and antiseptic qualities as well as their refreshing citrus aromas. Lemons plays an important part in our beauty routines as they have so many natural benefits. “They are a wonderful source of calcium, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. All of which help improve the appearance and condition of our skin. Another benefit of Lemon for the skin is that they can act as an antioxidant, astringent, stimulant and hydrator.”
3. Shear butter
Shea butter is an ideal cosmetic ingredient for softening skin. Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Using shea butter on the body, especially your face, can condition, tone, and soothe your skin. The easiest way to use shea butter for the face is to purchase a cream that includes shea butter. Facial mask can also be made using shea butter and several other ingredients. Washing off of the face first with a cream cleanser or warm water.
4. Lavender oil
Lavender oil can benefit the skin in numerous ways. It has the ability to lessen acne, help lighten skin, and reduce wrinkles. It can even be used to treat other things. Lavender oil works to kill bacteria, and this can prevent and heal acne breakout. “It unclogs pores and reduces inflammation when you put it on the skin. To use lavender oil for acne, dilute it in coconut oil or another carrier oil and apply it to your skin after washing your face.”
5. Milk
It’s packed with vitamins A and D as well as lactic acid. Some of these components are popular skin care additives. It’s best for acne-prone skin, mature skin and fading pigmentation.
5. Aloe vera
“It contains antioxidants, enzymes, Vitamins A and C, and it is highly anti-inflammatory. It can help treat burns, acne and dry skin.” When it comes to acne, Aloe Vera works best on superficial surface acne rather than cystic or deeper acne. The enzymes in it can also help exfoliate the skin to make it smoother.
6. Honey
“Raw honey is packed with components beneficial for your skin, especially if you have acne or autoimmune skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis.” Honey speeds up the skin cells’ healing processes. If you have blemishes or an eczema outbreak, honey that’s unpasteurized could speed healing and reduce inflammation.
LIGHT SKIN PRODUCTS AND TGEIR ESSENTIALS.
Essential ingredients that can be found in inorganic skin care products includes:
1. Papaya and Honey Scrub
Fresh papaya is excellent when it comes to its benefits for the skin. It contains enzymes such as papain and alpha hydroxy acids that have the ability to dissolve dead cells and remove impurities, which lead to glowing skin.
2. Sandalwood Powder
Sandalwood has skin brightening and lightening properties. It inhibits the activity of tyrosinase, thus reducing melanin production. Almond powder and milk provide essential nutrients and cleanse the skin, making your skin healthier and lighter after a few applications. “If you have never used sandalwood powder before, do a patch test on a small area on your forearm and observe for 24 hours. If no reaction or irritation develops, you can use this mask on your face.”
3. Vitamin B3
Vitamin B3, or Niacinamide, has been shown to reduce the production of melanin (pigment) and acts as an effective skin-lightening agent when added to skin creams. When applied topically, vitamin B helps the skin to retain moisture, making it feel softer and smoother and reducing fine lines.
4. Potato Juice
Potato is packed full of vitamins C, B1, B3, and B6 and minerals like magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus, along with dietary antioxidants, making it an amazing skin-loving ingredient. It helps maintain clear skin with an unmistakable glow. The Vitamin C in it boosts collagen production which helps to maintain skin elasticity and firmness while the zinc heals and protects damaged tissues. It removes dead skin cells and impurities from the skin.
5. Blueberries
Blueberries help in keeping your skin looking young and healthy. It is full of powerful antioxidants that shield the skin against harmful free radicals that can damage the collagen that keeps your skin firm. They are also packed with vitamin C, another antioxidant crucial for collagen production.
6. Turmeric Mask
Turmeric is another very important natural exfoliator. It contains Vitamin C which is responsible for skin lightening. All skin types can use it.
7. White Mulberry Extract
The white mulberry tree (Morus alba) is native to China and has been found to have many health benefits. In addition to preventing heart disease, cholesterol, and diabetes, it can also help to whiten the skin. White mulberry extract is a natural inhibitor of the enzyme tyrosinase.
