Nigeria’s star goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has officially announced her departure from Paris FC, bringing an end to a remarkable five-year spell with the French club.
The 24-year-old joined Paris FC from Nigeria’s Rivers Angels in 2020 and bowed out on a high after playing a decisive role in the club’s historic 2025 Coupe de France Féminine triumph; the team’s first major silverware in nearly two decades.
In the dramatic final at Stade de l’Épopée in Calais, Nnadozie delivered a standout performance, making two crucial penalty saves in a tense 5-4 shootout victory over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), following a goalless draw in regulation time.
Her commanding presence and consistency between the posts earned her several accolades, including the Best Goalkeeper Award in the Arkema Première Ligue for the 2023–2024 season.
Taking to social media, Nnadozie penned a heartfelt farewell to her teammates and fans:
“It’s been an honor to be part of this incredible team for the past five and a half years. I’ll miss each and every one of you. Thanks for all the support and amazing memories. It’s tough to say goodbye to such a fantastic team. Keep achieving greatness.”
Paris FC also paid glowing tribute to the Super Falcons’ shot-stopper.
“When Chiamaka joined Paris FC in 2020 from Rivers Angels, she instantly became a vital member of the team. As the best goalkeeper in the Arkema league in 2023, she leaves after a remarkable Coupe de France win where she played a starring role.
Paris FC extends its warmest gratitude to Chiamaka for her five-year contribution, which will forever be etched in the club’s history. We wish her the very best in the next chapter of her career.”
Over the course of her time at the club, Nnadozie featured in 100 league matches, recorded 44 clean sheets, and maintained an impressive 74.4% save rate, solidifying her place among the league’s elite goalkeepers.
As she looks ahead to her next move, fans and football observers alike will be watching closely to see where one of Africa’s brightest goalkeeping talents heads next.
