Popular entertainer Speed Darlington is under investigation by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), following alarming claims he made about an alleged sexual encounter with a 15-year-old girl.

The controversy erupted after Speed Darlington shared a video on Instagram, in which he recounted the incident, claiming it took place at an unnamed hotel.

In the disturbing footage, he suggested that the girl was left bleeding after the encounter and admitted to paying hotel staff N2,000 to change the sheets.

Expressing his disdain for conventional work, he stated, “Before they could come change the sheets for me, I had to give N2,000. Because the thing is somehow, to tell an adult to come and clean blood that I brought out of the body of a 15-year-old girl. I can never work for anybody, lai lai. I only work for myself.”

The video quickly went viral, prompting a swift response from the DSVA. In a statement posted on their official X handle, the agency acknowledged the “disturbing video currently circulating online” and emphasized the seriousness of the allegations.

“The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency is aware of the disturbing video currently circulating online, in which a popular entertainer allegedly admits to engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a minor,” the statement read. “While the individual in question did not specify the location of the incident during the Instagram Live session, we must clarify that the DSVA’s jurisdiction is limited to Lagos State.”

The agency reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s “zero-tolerance stance against all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence” and pledged to advocate for accountability and the protection of every Nigerian child.

As the investigation unfolds, both the DSVA and NAPTIP are committed to ensuring justice in this grave matter.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has commenced an investigation into a petition against former Managing Director of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, including plans to write to a Swiss school where his children reportedly studied.

The petition, filed by Dangote Industries Chairman, Aliko Dangote, alleges that about $7 million was spent on the children’s education in Switzerland in violation of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers.

Although Dangote withdrew an earlier petition from the ICPC in January 2026, the EFCC received a fresh petition on July 6.

A senior EFCC official said preliminary investigations are ongoing, noting that the commission is contacting local and international institutions named in the petition before inviting Ahmed.

The official confirmed that the Swiss school may be contacted to verify the claims.

The EFCC said the probe follows standard procedures in investigating alleged misuse of public funds.
