Ignore Opposition’s Attacks, APC Chieftain Urges Ribadu, Others

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, Alhaji Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso, has called on the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and other key officials in President Bola Tinubu’s administration to ignore criticisms from opposition figures and remain focused on their duties.

Kwankwaso commended Ribadu’s leadership in counterterrorism efforts, highlighting significant security gains, including the reclaiming of previously unsafe areas and the neutralization of insurgents and bandits.

He alleged that some opposition members are unsettled by Ribadu’s achievements and are attempting to undermine his work.

However, he urged the NSA and other government officials to remain committed to national security and governance.

The APC stalwart also expressed confidence in the party’s growing influence in Kano, citing recent defections from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and predicting that the APC would reclaim the state in the next election.

Fix Building Code Violations or Face Arrest, Reps Tell FCTA Boss

The House of Representatives has issued a stern warning to the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), threatening his arrest over alleged violations of building regulations in Abuja.

During an investigative hearing on the rising cases of building collapses in the FCT, the House Committee on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), accused the FCTA of negligence and failure to enforce building codes, endangering lives.

Committee Chairman, Rep. Abdullahi Hassan, criticized the FCTA for prioritizing revenue generation over public safety, warning that if the executive secretary failed to provide a detailed action plan within two weeks, the House would invoke its powers to compel compliance.

The investigation is ongoing, with more stakeholders expected to testify as lawmakers push for stricter enforcement of building regulations to prevent further tragedies.

Former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is poised to reclaim power from the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Monday at the flag-off of the Ramadan package distribution in Sokoto, Tambuwal emphasized the importance of unity within the PDP, insisting that the party’s 2023 mandate was “forcefully stolen.”

“By the grace of Allah, what was taken from us will be returned in 2027,” he asserted.

Tambuwal also praised PDP leaders for their commitment to strengthening the party and mobilizing support, reaffirming his belief that the opposition is well-positioned to take back power.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chieftain Dele Momodu has revealed that his rift with Nyesom Wike began when he declared his intention to run for the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, Momodu disclosed that while Wike never officially declared his ambition, he frequently engaged the media in ways that suggested he had presidential aspirations.

Before announcing his candidacy, Momodu sought Wike’s support, knowing he would face challenges securing northern votes.

However, Wike dismissed his request and later made sarcastic remarks about him on television, further straining their relationship.
