The head teachers of the state’s public primary schools received a warning from the Kwara State government yesterday about not collecting unapproved fees for the common entrance exam that is scheduled for this Saturday.
According to the government, all of the students who took the test had their necessary fees paid.
Additionally, it instructed school heads to provide guidance against any kind of dishonesty during the placement test.
The state’s Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development press secretary, Peter Amogbonjaye, signed a statement issued by the government containing the warnings.
The statement says as follows: “The Kwara State Government wishes to announce that Saturday, August 10, 2024, is the scheduled date of the Common Entrance (Placement) Examination into Junior Secondary Schools across the 16 local government areas of the state.
It is anticipated that the Common Entrance Examination accreditation will start at precisely 8:00 am in each of the state’s examination centers. In a statement released today, the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Ilorin, cautioned students, head teachers, and principals against engaging in any kind of examination malpractice while the test is being administered.
However, it is instructive to note that the state government has fully funded the placement exam. As a result, any principal or headteacher found to be unlawfully collecting money from students will be subject to the full force of the law.
