Real Madrid secured a thrilling victory over Manchester City, advancing to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after triumphing 4-3 in a dramatic penalty shootout on Wednesday.

In a highly anticipated showdown between Premier League and La Liga powerhouses, both teams showcased their prowess in an exhilarating 3-3 draw at the Bernabeu last week. The excitement continued at the Etihad Stadium as the titans traded blows throughout the match.

Rodrygo opened the scoring for Real Madrid just 12 minutes into the game, setting the stage for a tense battle. However, Kevin de Bruyne’s equalizer with 15 minutes remaining injected new life into the contest, ultimately sending the tie into extra time.

Despite the additional 30 minutes of play, neither side managed to find a breakthrough, leading to a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.

In a display of resilience and composure, Real Madrid emerged victorious from the spot-kick showdown, securing their passage to the semi-finals.

Next up for Real Madrid is a formidable clash against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals, following the German giants’ elimination of Arsenal from the competition.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the AFCON Morocco 2025 Local Organising Committee have approved free electronic visas for fans travelling to the tournament.

The policy applies to citizens of all countries that normally require a visa to enter Morocco. CAF said in a statement on Friday that the e-visas, processed via the YALLA mobile app, will be issued at no cost to supporters attending the competition, scheduled for 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.

Fans will need both a Fan ID and an e-visa to enter Morocco and access match venues. Both can be applied for within the YALLA app, streamlining travel and stadium entry.

CAF said the measure is meant to ease travel amid growing global interest in the tournament.

Approved applicants can then purchase match tickets through the CAF ticketing platform.
