During an interview with select television channels in Abuja, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, revealed that he returned Raymond Dokpesi’s property to his children despite their political differences.

Wike explained that despite his political disagreements with the late founder of AIT, he could not allow injustice to befall Dokpesi’s family. When Dokpesi’s children approached him about the property, Wike took immediate action to rectify the situation.

He recounted how he visited the property and discovered irregularities in its allocation, promptly canceling it and ensuring the return of the property to Dokpesi’s children. Wike emphasized that political differences should not lead to the unjust treatment of family members.

Despite their political disputes, Wike made it clear that he could not stand by and watch injustice occur, especially when the individual involved was no longer alive. He urged Dokpesi’s children to withdraw the matter from court and assured them of his support in rectifying the situation.

The incident highlights Wike’s commitment to fairness and justice, even in the face of political differences. Despite their conflicting political stances, Wike prioritized doing what was right for Dokpesi’s family, exemplifying integrity and empathy in governance.

Addressing a delegation from the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), in Abuja on Friday, Tinubu defended policies such as fuel subsidy removal, emphasizing that they were necessary to avert financial collapse.

“We were spending the investment of our unborn children. Poverty has no religious identity; we must fight it together,” he told the bishops, urging collective efforts in nation-building.

Led by the CBCN President, Most Reverend Lucius Ugorji, the CBCN delegation recognized the government’s efforts but pressed for more measures to ease the burden on citizens.

They also urged the administration to relinquish control of religious pilgrimages and focus on national development.
