CP Aboki Danjuma, the new Commissioner of Police of Imo State, has taken office after CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde was redeployed to the Force Headquarters in Abuja. The command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, announced the official handover of duties at the command’s headquarters in Owerri.
CP Danjuma, hailing from Wukari local government area in Taraba State, officially assumed office with a rich background in policing. He commenced his career with the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 1992 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Having served meritoriously in various capacities, including Divisional Police Officer and Area Commander in different Police Commands, CP Danjuma brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His career highlights include positions such as Deputy Commandant at Police College Ikeja, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Admin at Ondo State Police Command, and Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (DCSCID) at Niger State Police Command.
CP Danjuma’s commitment to professional development is evident through his completion of several courses, both locally and internationally. These include the Combat Operations Course (COC), Intermediate Command Course (ICC), Tactical Leadership Command Course (TLCC), and Senior Leadership and Command Course (SLCC).
Known for his dedication, professionalism, and selfless service, CP Danjuma has received numerous accolades throughout his career. In his address, he pledged a citizen-friendly, problem-solving, rule of law-compliant, and intelligence-based proactive policing approach for Imo State. He sought the maximum support and cooperation of the residents, emphasizing the importance of community collaboration in maintaining peace and security in the state.
