In a recent development, the Kaduna State Police Command announced the successful arrest of four suspected kidnappers, a commendable feat in the ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities in the state.
According to Mansir Hassan, the spokesperson of the command, the arrests were made possible through the collaborative efforts of vigilant citizens and law enforcement agencies. Three of the suspects were apprehended in Lere Local Government Area (LGA) following a tip-off, while the fourth was captured in Tudun Jukun, Zaria LGA.
The joint patrol team, comprised of officers from the Saminaka Division and the Hunters Group, nabbed three individuals involved in kidnapping and cattle rustling based on credible information provided by concerned citizens. The suspects, identified as Isah Baffa Rabo, Ja’afaru Sale, and Umar Musa, confessed to their involvement in various criminal activities, including kidnappings for ransom and cattle theft.
Additionally, Idris Abubakar, who allegedly purchased stolen cattle from the syndicate, was also apprehended. Recovered items from the operation included weapons such as a locally made single-barrel gun, a cutlass, and mobile phones, which have been pivotal in furthering the investigation.
In a separate incident, Hussaini, a 70-year-old male from Tudun Jukun, Zaria, was arrested by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Tudun Wada Zaria Division following intelligence reports of suspicious activities. During the operation, an AK-47 rifle, a locally made pistol, and cartridges were confiscated from the suspect.
