Heavy Downpour: Fallen Trees Block Abuja Road
By Shina Olabisi
Motorists are currently diverting to alternative lane on the dual carriage Yakubu Gowon Crescent in Asokoro District of the Federal Capital Territory.
The diversion is caused by the afternoon heavy downpour during which two trees fell across the busy road linking popular A-Y-A to the Zuba axis of the nation's capital.
Motorists were seeing passing through the lane at the front of Foursquare Gospel Church to reconnect the blocked road ahead of A.A. Rano Filing Station, a distance of about 100 meters.
AbujaCityJournal's Correspondent at the scene reports, that men of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, have barricaded the affected portion of the road and were seen at the scene to evacuate the trees.
One of the officials who spoke with our correspondent said the Agency will remove the trees speedily to clear the road and prevent accident.
