The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has extended a life-changing opportunity to a homeless boy identified as Isaiah, offering him both employment and full sponsorship of his university education.
Isaiah’s story came to public attention after a video of him was shared by popular blogger Tunde Ednut.
The video, originally produced by media platform Primifactory, featured Isaiah sharing his struggles living on the streets while maintaining his Christian faith.
Despite his situation, he revealed that he never missed Sunday or midweek church services, even though he was often turned away due to his appearance.
Isaiah narrated that he completed his secondary education at Government Secondary School, Garki, Abuja.
However, he was unable to pursue his dream of becoming a lawyer because his mother could not afford the fees.
Matters worsened when the government demolished her shop, forcing Isaiah to fend for himself.
“I decided to move out and work because I see myself as a man,” he said in the interview.
He tried selling fuel on the streets but was arrested by the police and had his goods confiscated. He later began directing traffic and assisting motorists at filling stations, hoping to save enough to return to school.
His heartfelt plea to complete his education touched many, including Senator Natasha, who responded with a public offer to support him.
“One of my gardeners runs a distance learning programme with the University of Abuja. Young and purposeful hearts should be supported,” she wrote on Instagram. “@mazitundeednut, if he is interested in working, I can fund his education till he graduates from the university. @hamzalamisi kindly bring him to me on Monday.”
The senator’s gesture has drawn widespread praise on social media, with many commending her for giving the young boy a second chance at life.
