Davido Celebrates Tems on Grammy Win

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has congratulated Tems on winning the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammy Awards on Sunday.

In the early hours of Monday, Davido took to social media to celebrate her victory over strong contenders, including Yemi Alade, Asake, Burna Boy, and himself.

Tems secured the prestigious award with her hit song Love Me Jeje, marking her second Grammy win after her previous success with Future’s chart-topping track Wait For U.

The Best African Music Performance category was fiercely contested, featuring nominations from Yemi Alade (Tomorrow), Asake (MMS), Chris Brown (Sensational featuring Davido & Lojay), and Burna Boy (Higher).

Notably, all the nominees were Nigerian, further underscoring the country’s dominance in global music.

Expressing his admiration and support, Davido wrote:  “Congratulations to my one and only! #ChrisBrown! And to the Queen @temsbaby, we are proud of you!”

The 67th Grammy Awards ceremony was held on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Jay-Z, Diddy Accuser Drops Sexual Assault Lawsuit

The woman who accused hip-hop moguls Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z of sexual assault has officially withdrawn her lawsuit, court documents confirmed on Friday.

The lawsuit, which alleged that both men assaulted her at a 2000 MTV Video Music Awards after-party when she was 13, was dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled.

Jay-Z welcomed the dismissal, calling the claims “frivolous, fictitious, and appalling.”

He expressed relief for himself and his family, denouncing the allegations as baseless.

Meanwhile, Diddy still faces serious federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, with prosecutors accusing him of orchestrating drug-fueled abuse. His trial is set for May 5.

His exit follows a controversial episode featuring comedian Deeone, who alleged that social media commentator Verydarkblackman (VDM), is attracted to men. The claim sparked backlash, fueling speculation about Nedu’s role.

In response, VDM accused Nedu of persistently inviting him to the show since 2024 and even offering to buy him a car to secure his appearance.

Nedu’s resignation has ignited debate online, with fans divided over his decision and the podcast’s future direction.

Asake Exits YBNL, Unveils Giran Republic

Nigerian music star Asake has officially left Olamide’s YBNL Nation to launch his own record label, Giran Republic.

Amid speculation, he confirmed the move by releasing his latest single, Why Love, under the new imprint.

Despite rumors of a fallout, Asake had previously honored Olamide in his 2025 song Military, dismissing claims of bad blood.

Signed to YBNL in 2022, he retains his distribution deal with Empire while forging his independent path in the industry.
