The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested two individuals, Emmanuel Linus and Moses Daniel, for impersonating a Nigerian Army officer and engaging in fraudulent activities.

Linus was apprehended on November 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. while wearing full Nigerian Army camouflage.

Upon interrogation, he allegedly presented a fake military ID card, dated December 20, 2024, which raised suspicions.

Further investigation revealed Linus and Daniel were part of a syndicate defrauding victims through fake bank alerts.

Parading the suspects, FCT Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, stated that efforts are underway to arrest other syndicate members.

“We are committed to bringing every member of this criminal group to justice,” he affirmed.

In a related operation, police arrested two suspects for vandalizing streetlight poles and stealing cables near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Among them was a dismissed police officer, caught alongside an accomplice during a November 29, 2024, operation.

Surveillance efforts led to their arrest, and recovered items included multiple streetlight poles and cables valued at over ₦20 million, belonging to the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

The Command also reported the seizure of 296 vehicles for violations such as driving without number plates and the illegal use of tinted glasses.

Commissioner Disu emphasized the effectiveness of the Special Tactical Team in curbing such offenses.

The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.

Disu assured residents of the Command’s dedication to combating crime and safeguarding public infrastructure in Abuja.
