The Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) won 19 medals in the online International Mathematics Challenge held by the Pan-Asia International School in Thailand, demonstrating their extraordinary mathematical aptitude.
The competition, designed to encourage students to perceive mathematics differently, aimed to stimulate their interest in the subject and inspire contemplation on how math could be applied in future studies and daily life, as highlighted by the organizers.
A total of 52 NTIC students actively participated in the challenge, competing against over 8,270 students from approximately 70 countries. The outstanding performance of NTIC students led to 19 individuals being awarded medals, with an additional six receiving honorable mentions.
Among the accolades, NTIC students secured nine Gold medals, six Silver medals, four Bronze medals, and six honorable mentions. These exceptional achievements have earned them an invitation to participate in the Global Round of the Copernicus Mathematics Olympiad, slated to be held in New York in July 2024, hosted by Columbia University.
In acknowledgment of the students’ accomplishments, Mr. Fevzullah Bilgin, the Managing Director of NTIC, commended their dedication. He specifically recognized the Gold Medallists: Luis Lu, Chidubem Festus Nwakuche, Chibuike Augustine Amah, Kaosisochukwu Karsten Enebe, Chukwukasiemobi Andre Enebe, Chukwunwike Ezebube, Abdulhafiz Wakili, Oghenerukevwe Esemitodje, and Ikenna Enwere.
