PEPC Judgement: Victory For Democracy –Buhari Celebrates Tinubu’s Victory

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed joy over the ruling of the Presidential Elections Petition Court (PEPC) confirming the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC), its candidate, President Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Vice President Kashim Shettima in the February 25 election.

In his reaction after the judgment, he said the PEPC has “written history” by spurning intimidation and all manner of prejudice to deliver justice according to law to a majority of citizens whose wish is that the choices they made are respected.

statement issued by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, quoted him as saying: “If anybody has won today it is the democracy and the people,” adding “with the verdict of the Supreme Court, the election period is over and it is time to put the heat and dust behind us.”

He advised that the new APC administration led by Tinubu should get the support of everyone in order to deliver the promises it made to the people.

The former President also voiced his appreciation to all citizens for maintaining peace throughout this period and prayed for continued progress and development under the APC government.

He congratulated the President, the Vice President and the APC on the victory in court, expressing his best wishes to them in fulfilling the peoples’ aspirations

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, has advised former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to resolve his grievances with Tinubu privately rather than airing them publicly.

El-Rufai recently criticized the APC, accusing it of lacking internal democracy and betraying Tinubu.

Bwala responded, urging El-Rufai to engage directly with the president, noting that his comments seemed more like dissatisfaction than opposition.

Bwala, who has a close personal rapport with El-Rufai, emphasized that airing grievances in public was unproductive and suggested a private conversation with Tinubu as the best course of action.

Ondo PDP Demands Finance Commissioner’s Removal

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Ondo State has demanded the removal of Finance Commissioner Omowumi Isaac over alleged budget padding in the 2025 Appropriation Bill.

The party cited discrepancies, including an N11.5 billion security vote, N250 million for honorariums, and a N230 million Toyota Prado SUV for Isaac’s office.

PDP’s Publicity Secretary, Kennedy Peretei, accused Isaac of financial misconduct and questioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for not investigating the matter.

In response, the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissed the allegations, with its Director of Media and Publicity, Steve Otaloro, stating that Isaac had no direct role in budget formulation.

The APC maintained that the contested provisions were essential for security and public welfare.
