Nigeria’s triumphant Super Falcons have landed back in Abuja after securing their record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco. The team touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Monday, July 28, 2025, around 2:26 p.m. aboard a chartered flight, marking a glorious homecoming.
Upon disembarking, team captain Rasheedat Ajibade proudly held aloft the coveted WAFCON trophy, symbolizing the squad’s remarkable achievement and igniting jubilation among awaiting officials and supporters.
The Super Falcons were greeted with immense national pride and enthusiasm upon their arrival. A grand victory parade has been meticulously planned for the team, which will wind through major districts of the Federal Capital Territory. The celebratory motorcade is scheduled to traverse key areas including Airport Road, Berger Junction, Maitama, and Wuse Market, offering fans across the capital a unique opportunity to celebrate the team’s historic triumph and catch a glimpse of the iconic WAFCON trophy.
This celebratory procession will culminate at the Presidential Villa, where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to officially receive and host the victorious Super Falcons later today, in recognition of their spectacular comeback win against Morocco in the WAFCON final.
