A shocking video has surfaced on social media, revealing a distressing incident at Bamidele Olumilua University of Education Science and Technology, Ikere in Ekiti State. In the footage, a female undergraduate is seen brutally assaulting a fellow student with a stick.
Despite the victim’s pleas for mercy, the assailant can be heard callously declaring, “Let me draw blood from you easily or hardly.”
The incident, which reportedly took place on Sunday, coincided with the video’s circulation online. According to sources, the assault occurred within the campus premises of BOUESTI.
Identified as Ajayi Precious Gloria, the victim faced the wrath of her attacker, purportedly a “very popular” Mass Communication student, as claimed by a commentator in the video. Shockingly, the commentator also suggested that the victim and the assailant were previously acquainted as friends.
What’s more alarming is the bystanders’ apparent indifference to the violence, as no one intervened to halt the assault. The motive behind the attack remains unclear at this time.
This disturbing incident comes in the wake of previous reports of bullying within educational institutions. In April, social media was abuzz with outrage over a viral video depicting a female student being bullied at Lead British International School, Abuja. Similarly, another video emerged in the same month, showcasing male students in the school’s uniform engaged in bullying behavior.
As authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding this latest incident, it serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address the pervasive issue of bullying within academic settings.
