The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command has arrested three armed robbery suspects linked to the killing of a legal practitioner, Barrister Chigbo Princess Nwamaka Mediatrix, in Abuja.
The suspects, identified as Saifullahi Yusuf (22), Ishau Yusuf (24), both brothers and Minka’ilu Jibril, also known as Dan-Hajia, were apprehended in Dei-Dei, Dakwa and Dan-Tata areas of Kubwa. Police described them as members of a notorious “one-chance” syndicate.
In a statement on Sunday, January 11, 2026, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the arrests followed directives from the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, to bring all those connected to the crime to justice.
According to police, the incident occurred on January 5, 2026, around 5:50 p.m., when the victim boarded a black Volkswagen Golf 3 along the Kubwa Expressway.
The suspects allegedly wound up the tinted windows, threatened her with weapons and attempted to extort her. When she resisted, she was assaulted and pushed out of the moving vehicle, leading to her death.
Police said the suspects stole the victim’s Android phone and sold it in Dei-Dei for ₦120,000. Items recovered from them include scissors, dagger knives, other knives, a restraining chain and a plier.
SP Adeh said investigations are ongoing to arrest a fleeing suspect and dismantle the wider criminal network, assuring residents of the Command’s commitment to tackling crime.
She urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities via the police emergency lines.
