The University of Abuja has appointed Mrs Roseline Adakayi as Acting Registrar, succeeding Mrs Islamiya Foyeke Abdulraheem whose six-month tenure ended on 12 May 2025.
The announcement was made by the institution’s Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr Olanrewaju Tejuoso, and confirmed by Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patricia Manko Lar.
The appointment is for an initial six months, pending the selection of a substantive Registrar.
Adakayi, who joined the university in 1999 as an Administrative Officer, became a Deputy Registrar in 2013.
Her career spans multiple strategic units including Student Affairs, Establishments, the Institute of Education, and the Centre for Distance Learning.
She holds degrees and diplomas in Geography, Land Surveying, and Photogrammetry from respected institutions such as the University of Jos, the Federal School of Surveying Oyo, and RECTAS in Ile-Ife.
She recently completed a sabbatical at the University of Jos.
Professor Lar praised Adakayi’s leadership and commitment, describing her as well prepared to manage the university’s administrative responsibilities during this transition. She also thanked Mrs Abdulraheem for her service and dedication.
