In a dramatic moment that lit up the 17th Headies Awards last night, Annie Macaulay, estranged wife of music icon 2Baba, officially confirmed their divorce on stage.

Annie appeared alongside Farooq Oreagba, the stylish King of Steeze from Ojude Oba 2024, to present the award for Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year.

While introducing herself, she paused and corrected her name, signaling a return to her maiden identity.

“Annie Idi… Oh sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey single ladies,” she declared to a roaring applause from the audience.

This confirmation comes months after Annie dropped the “Idibia” surname on social media, signing off in March as Annie Uwana Macaulay on Instagram.

Annie and 2Baba, who share two children, saw their marriage end in January 2025 after 2Baba announced their separation.

The singer has since proposed to Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru and introduced her to his family and kinsmen in Benue State, fuelling strong wedding rumours.
