Nigerian gospel star Steve Crown has sealed a lifetime journey with his partner, Ruth Thomas, in a colourful ceremony that set social media abuzz.
Held in Abuja on Saturday, the wedding drew reactions after a video surfaced showing Ruth kneeling to take her vows before Crown, an act that sparked both admiration and debate online.
In her emotional vow, Ruth pledged to be Steve’s anchor, cheerleader, and haven of peace, vowing unconditional love and unwavering support.
The clip, shared by gospel artistes Joe Praize and Neon Adeojo, captured Ruth in a stunning white gown as she tearfully declared her commitment.
Despite a few critics, most fans celebrated the couple’s public display of devotion, with many praising Ruth’s gesture of humility and deep respect.
Overflowing with gratitude, Crown described Ruth as a woman after God’s heart.
Their traditional wedding held earlier on April 18, where Ruth described her husband as the love of her life and her constant source of motivation.
Crown, famous for his hit song “You Are Great,” had proposed to Ruth on March 23, sharing a tender moment of crowning her with a touching message that read, “Officially off the market. Two hearts fused by God.”
The announcement unleashed waves of congratulations from fellow gospel artistes including Judikay, Moses Bliss, Okopi Peterson, Joe Praize, Kaestrings, and Eben.
Their union follows closely after the high profile wedding of Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, keeping the spirit of love alive on social media.
