Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad (Ilerioluwa Aloba), has revealed that his life improved following his son’s tragic passing.

In a heartfelt interview with media personality Akin Abolade (Mrlilgaga), Aloba spoke about the positive changes he experienced after Mohbad’s death.

“My life got better after Mohbad’s death. He was like a friend to me, and although he had plans to support me, circumstances prevented him from doing so. After his passing, it was the combined spirit of Mohbad and God that led people to help me,” Aloba shared.

Aloba expressed gratitude for the unexpected support he has received, including a car and other possessions.

“People gave me these things, and it’s beyond ordinary. It’s the spirit of Mohbad and God guiding them,” he said.

Addressing the controversy surrounding his son’s wife, Wunmi, and her family, Aloba stated they had control over Mohbad’s assets.

“They took possession of everything, including the land Mohbad bought for me to build a church,” he explained.

Aloba recalled that just two weeks before his son’s death, Mohbad had shown him a house he planned to purchase, intending to finalize the deal after completing his tour.

Reflecting on his own journey, Aloba shared that Mohbad’s birth inspired him to become a singer.

“After the money from his naming ceremony was stolen, I started singing, with my son as my backup singer at just one year old,” he said.

While Aloba works as a carpenter, singer, and pastor, he does not yet have a church, although his son had promised to build one for him.

Aloba proudly displayed his new block industry, a truck, and a Toyota Highlander—gifts from compassionate Nigerians.

Since Mohbad’s passing on September 11, 2023, Aloba has released nine tracks. The death of the 26-year-old singer continues to impact those who knew him.

On September 19, 2023, a nurse accused of administering a Tetanus vaccine to Mohbad was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.

The nurse, found to be unlicensed, raised further questions about the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
