The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), has launched a resit opportunity for candidates who wish to retake their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), papers, starting January–February 2025.
Confirming the development on JoyNews’ AM Show in Ghana, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, stated that registration is open until January 8 for students who need to retake one or two subjects.
Candidates can register online via WAEC’s website or at accredited internet cafés.
The resit exams will run from January 24 to February 15, 2025, offering students a second chance to improve their grades.
Kapi emphasized that the initiative aims to provide greater flexibility for students who narrowly missed passing certain subjects.
Students whose results were canceled due to minor infractions—excluding those banned for exam malpractice—are also eligible for the WASSCE PC1 exams.
This initiative addresses growing demands for more opportunities to succeed, helping ease the pressure on candidates.
WAEC urges students to stay informed by regularly checking its official website for updates.
