Rapper Fires Back After Shocking Accusations

Nigerian rapper Falz has fiercely responded to allegations made by social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM), who claimed that Falz and his father, renowned lawyer Femi Falana, helped Bobrisky escape money laundering charges.

During an appearance on the Afrobeats Podcast, Falz detailed how the situation escalated after VDM posted a viral video containing false accusations. According to Falz, VDM became defensive when Falz initially approached him to discuss the issue, even challenging Falz to take him to court.

Falz shared that while the defamatory claims could have led to criminal charges, he initially chose to give VDM a chance to apologize and remove the video, but VDM refused. The rapper made it clear that his father’s involvement was the last straw, declaring that if VDM wanted trouble, he was more than prepared to respond.

The controversy began when VDM released an audio clip allegedly involving Bobrisky and accused the Falanas of assisting in avoiding jail time. Despite the Lagos High Court’s order for VDM to retract his statements on October 15, 2024, he has yet to comply, leaving the situation unresolved.

A nurse who treated the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), has testified that he suffered complications after receiving a tetanus injection at his Lekki residence on September 12, 2023.

Testifying before Justice C.A. Shotobi at the Ikorodu Coroner’s Court, the nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, revealed that Mohbad began vomiting and convulsing after the injection.

She briefly left to buy medication but returned to find him in distress.

Ogedengbe said she treated a swollen cut on his hand with a tetanus shot, paracetamol injection, and a slow dose of ceftriaxone.

His wife, Omowunmi, reportedly downplayed his reaction, calling it normal.

Realizing the severity, Ogedengbe and Ayobami Sodiq (a.k.a Spending) rushed to get anti-allergy medication but were delayed.

By the time they returned, Mohbad was being taken to a hospital—on a motorcycle due to traffic—where he was declared dead on arrival.

The case resumes on March 21, 2025. Ogedengbe and Sodiq face prosecution for reckless negligence, while Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Primeboy, and Mohbad’s former manager have been acquitted. Investigations continue.
