The Adamawa Police Command has arrested five individuals for allegedly stealing copper wire and a gas cylinder.
Those arrested include Abdulmunini Muhammad, 18, from Wauru Jabbe, Ibrahim Ahmed, 18, Mubarak Abubakar, 29, from Malamre, Mahmud Ibrahim, 18, from Malamre, and Isaac Jonsh, 17, from Malamre.
Abdulmunini Muhammad was accused of breaking into a house in his community and stealing a gas cylinder. Ibrahim Ahmed confessed to stealing copper wire from a filling station, revealing that he and his accomplices melt and sell the wires to scavengers.
Mubarak Abubakar, Mahmud Ibrahim, and Isaac Jonsh allegedly broke into another filling station, stealing copper wires from the ceiling with the intention of selling them to scavengers.
State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrests, stating that the operatives apprehended the suspects.
Commissioner of Police Morris Dankombo has ordered that the suspects be charged to court for prosecution.
The arrests demonstrate the police’s commitment to combating vandalism and theft in Adamawa State.
