A chilling incident has sent shockwaves through the Igando area of Ilesa, Osun State, as an unidentified woman, posing as an intending tenant, vanished with two young children. The suspected kidnapper, whose name remains unknown, is currently at large, while security operatives intensify their efforts to locate her and rescue the missing children.
The Corps Commander, CSP Isaac Omoyele (rtd), confirmed the incident, assuring the public that the security outfit is leaving no stone unturned in its search for the kidnapper and the two children, aged four and two. “We are aware of the situation, and we are working hard to locate the woman. By God’s grace, we will find her and the children,” Omoyele stated.
According to eyewitness reports, the intending tenant, believed to be between 17 and 20 years old, allegedly abducted the children after moving into a one-room apartment in a ‘face-me-and-face-you’ building in the Cele area of Igando. She had paid for six months’ rent to an existing tenant in the house, who then informed the landlord. The transaction was carried out without a receipt or proper background checks.
On the fateful day, sources revealed that the woman, described as fair-skinned, with a low haircut and fixed nails, had been seen playing with the children. Neighbors noted that she had integrated well into the community over the brief period she stayed there, giving no indication of her sinister intentions.
The mothers of the two abducted children recounted their harrowing experience, explaining that the suspect had been friendly with the children before disappearing with them. “She was playing with our children, and we didn’t suspect anything,” one of the mothers said. The woman reportedly lied to neighbors, claiming she was taking the children to buy something, but she never returned.
