Since breaking into the mainstream in 2022, Asake has soared to superstar status, delivering a steady stream of hit singles across two successful albums. Continuing his global ascent, Asake has announced the release date for his upcoming album ‘Lungu Boy,’ set for August 9, 2024. This album will feature an array of superstars, including Grammy-winning Nigerian icon Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, American sensation Travis Scott, and Brazilian singer Ludmila.
‘Lungu Boy’ follows a series of high-profile collaborations from Asake, who has recently worked with Zlatan, Ayra Starr, Victony, Tems, and Central Cee. In 2024, Asake released ‘Only Me’ and ‘Wave,’ featuring Central Cee, which is one of the tracks on the new album.
The album release precedes Asake’s upcoming ‘Lungu Boy’ tour, which will include stops at the renowned O2 Arena, a venue he headlined in 2023, and the iconic Madison Square Garden, making him only the fourth Nigerian artist to headline there.
This upcoming release will mark Asake’s third album in three years, solidifying his reputation as an era-defining superstar. His debut album, ‘Mr. Money With The Vibes,’ won the Album of the Year at the 2023 Headies Awards, while his second album, ‘Work of Art,’ featured the hit single ‘Lonely At The Top,’ which set the record for the longest-charting song on the TurnTable Top 100.
