Nigerian music icon David Adedeji Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has opened up about how his father, Adedeji Adeleke, influenced his unwavering faith and resilience during life’s trials.

Speaking on the Rollingout Podcast, Davido reflected on his upbringing in a deeply religious home and the lessons his father instilled in him.

“My dad is very successful, but he’s also an elder in the church.

“I grew up as a Seventh-day Adventist and even attended a Christian college,” Davido shared.

He admitted that he initially struggled to understand his father’s steadfast trust in God, especially when faced with life’s challenges.

“I used to ask, ‘Why do bad things happen to good people?’ And my dad would say, ‘You can’t question God.’ At the time, I didn’t get it. I’d think, ‘What do you mean I can’t question God?’”

This perspective, however, began to resonate with Davido after enduring the heartbreaking loss of his son, Ifeanyi.

Despite his grief, he soon experienced a series of blessings that transformed his outlook.

“A year later, we had twins. I released the biggest album of my career, and I got my first Grammy nominations.

That’s when it hit me—sometimes you don’t see the full picture until later,” he explained.

Davido credits his father’s teachings for helping him find strength in faith and resilience in the face of adversity.

“People go through different struggles, but one thing I’ve learned is that God always has your back,” he said, offering words of encouragement to others facing tough times.

Through his journey, Davido’s story underscores the power of faith, family, and perseverance in overcoming life’s challenges.

Court Dismisses Bobrisky’s ₦1.2 Billion Lawsuit Against EFCC, NASS

A Federal High Court in Lagos has dismissed a ₦1.2 billion lawsuit filed by popular crossdresser Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, widely known as Bobrisky, against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the National Assembly (NASS).

Bobrisky sought ₦200 million in damages from the EFCC, alleging psychological trauma, and ₦1 billion from the National Assembly for purported violations of his right to a fair hearing.

He also requested an injunction to restrain both parties from harassing, detaining, or declaring him wanted.

The case was rooted in allegations that Bobrisky paid ₦15 million to the EFCC to drop money laundering charges, a claim that surfaced in a leaked audio recording by social media influencer Martins Otse.

In his judgment, Justice Alexander Owoeye ruled that Bobrisky’s claims lacked merit and were unsupported by evidence.

“Having evaluated the evidence before this court, it is evident that the applicant failed to provide credible proof to justify the award of the declaratory and injunctive reliefs sought,” the judge stated.

The court also declined to award any damages against the EFCC, with the judge noting that no fundamental rights violations were established. Dele Oyewale, spokesperson for the EFCC, confirmed the ruling, emphasizing that the judgment validated the agency’s stance.

This development represents a significant legal setback for Bobrisky amid his ongoing controversies involving the anti-graft agency.
