Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has provided clarity on her remarks about singer Davido not greeting her at a previous event, emphasizing that she was simply answering a question posed to her. During a recent appearance on Isbae U’s show, “Curiosity Made Me Ask,” Henshaw was asked about her comments on Davido’s lack of greeting.
“Sorry, why did you go to an interview to report Davido because he didn’t greet you?” the host inquired.
Taken aback by the question, Henshaw clarified that she did not report the singer to anyone. She responded, “I was asked a question, and I answered it. I didn’t report anybody; I responded to the question. What is ‘report?’ What does report mean?”
She continued, “They asked about the person, and I was speaking about the knowledge and interaction that I had. I didn’t report, and we even had a conversation after that, so it’s really none of your business. That’s what you people do; you look for strife.”
In a humorous turn, Isbae U brought in a Davido lookalike to prostrate before Henshaw and apologize for the singer’s perceived shortcomings.
This clarification comes after Henshaw’s December 2023 interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, where she expressed her feelings about Davido. During that interview, Henshaw stated, “Well, I’m not a fan. I like his music, but personally, I don’t know him. I’ve met him; he didn’t greet me. I’m sorry. No, I’m not sorry. I’m old enough. He didn’t greet, and for me, I believe he should be respectful. For me, personality matters.”
Henshaw’s recent statements highlight the importance of understanding context in media interactions. Her initial comments were not meant to criticize but to share her personal experience when asked directly about it.
The broader issue of respect and courtesy in the entertainment industry is significant. Public figures often face scrutiny over their interactions, and small gestures like greetings can impact perceptions. Henshaw’s stance underscores her belief in the value of respect and personal interaction, which resonates with many in the industry.
