Actress Bibi Sonye has taken a firm stance against poor dental hygiene in Nollywood, vowing to take legal action against any movie producer who pairs her with a male co-star with bad breath. In a recent Instagram post, the actress expressed her frustration with having to kiss male co-stars who do not maintain proper dental hygiene and urged for higher standards in the Nigerian movie industry.

She began, “Nigerian movie industry, we need to do better. If you’re going to give me a script and in that script you put a kissing scene and you know that you did not hire an actor with fresh breath and you put that person in the same scene with me, I will sue your production. I am tired of kissing people with horrible breath. Let’s normalize not kissing in a romantic scene because what the hell is going on?”

Sonye further criticized the weak approach to oral hygiene among some co-stars, pointing out the negligence of basic hygiene practices before romantic scenes. “Y’all would be eating your egusi soup or whatever and then you’d come straight to set without gargling, without using mouthwash, and you think it’s okay to put your mouth in my mouth? I quit! No,” she lamented.

The actress called on Nigerian movie producers to conduct proper health evaluations of their movie stars. She also slammed actors who do not adequately prepare for romantic scenes. “You men are collecting one million, two million or however much you’re collecting, no problem. Yet you can’t go to the dentist? You go from smoking your weed or cigars, all those things in your mouth, and you think it’s okay to bring it on set? I’m calling out all the Nollywood producers, do the needful! Evaluate the mouths of those you bring to set to kiss others,” she concluded.

Media personality Daddy Freeze has defended his past friendship with convicted internet fraudster Hushpuppi, revealing that he stood by him when others turned their backs.

In a video shared by Tunde Ednut, Daddy Freeze disclosed that despite widespread criticism of Hushpuppi, he refuses to condemn him because of the support he received during a difficult period.

“Hushpuppi has never given me money before, not even $1. But he gave me friendship when nobody wanted to be my friend because they believed I was the devil,” he said.

Recalling their first meeting, he shared, “The first time I met Hushpuppi was when I was invited to Dubai along with some influencers. At the time, I had already started the #FreeTheSheeple movement.

“The influencers didn’t like me, the church I attended for 10 years rejected me, and everyone abandoned me. Then Hushpuppi sent me a DM saying, ‘Where are you? Come over.’”

Daddy Freeze acknowledged that he may have suspected Hushpuppi’s wealth was not legitimate but emphasized that it didn’t change the kindness he received.

“Why won’t I be friends with someone who was my friend? How am I going to be angry with him?

“I might have guessed that his money was not legit, but like Davido said in one of his songs, ‘Dey for who dey for you.’”

His remarks have since sparked mixed reactions online, with some defending his stance on loyalty while others criticized his association with Hushpuppi.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has rescued 23 children from a suspected child trafficking syndicate operating under the guise of an orphanage in Kubwa, Abuja.

The operation, carried out on March 20, 2025, followed credible intelligence on suspicious activities at Mother Deborah Orphanage.

Police operatives from the Kubwa Division swiftly stormed the location and arrested the orphanage owner, Ijeoma Andy, along with another suspect.

According to FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the raid led to the rescue of a three-year-old child suspected to have been stolen from Kaduna State, alongside 22 other children aged between two and 14 years.

Investigations revealed that Andy could not provide a reasonable explanation of how the children ended up in her facility, raising strong suspicions of child trafficking.

The rescued children are now in protective custody receiving care, while efforts continue to track down other accomplices.

The police urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities via emergency lines: 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653.
