Actress Abimbola Craig, known for her role in “Skinny Girl in Transit,” has bravely opened up about the painful aftermath of her brain surgery in 2014, revealing that she feared for her life during the ordeal.

In a candid video shared on YouTube, Craig recounted her experience following the discovery of a brain tumor that necessitated surgery.

However, the aftermath of the tumor removal presented a new set of challenges. Craig began experiencing adverse reactions to the pain medication prescribed post-surgery, leading to insomnia, hallucinations, and depression.

Struggling to comprehend her symptoms, Craig eventually realized the side effects of the medication after researching online. Despite switching to a less potent pain reliever upon consultation with the hospital, she had already lost a significant amount of weight.

One particularly agonizing procedure she endured was the lumbar puncture, akin to a spinal tap, conducted during a visit to the emergency room. The repeated lumbar punctures aimed to extract spinal fluid to diagnose her condition, with doctors suspecting meningitis due to her symptoms.

After extensive testing, it was revealed that Craig had contracted malaria during a visit to Nigeria. Prompt treatment for malaria marked the turning point in her recovery journey.

Reflecting on her ordeal, Craig expressed gratitude for her survival and regained health a decade after the surgery. She recounted moments of despair during the lumbar puncture episodes, where she feared for her life amidst uncertainty about her condition.

Craig’s resilience and eventual recovery serve as a testament to her strength and determination in overcoming life’s challenges.
