A$AP Rocky Faces Trial for Hollywood Shooting Amidst New Video Evidence

Rapper A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Athelaston Mayers, will proceed to trial for the alleged shooting of former friend and collaborator Terell Ephron, known as A$AP Relli, outside a Hollywood hotel. The decision was handed down by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge M.L. Villar, who expressed that the totality of video evidence and testimony presented during the preliminary hearing was sufficient to proceed to trial.

A$AP Rocky, the 35-year-old “Praise the Lord” rapper, maintained composure during the courtroom proceedings. He has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the November 6, 2021, incident, where he is accused of firing a weapon during a dispute with Ephron. The confrontation left Ephron with a grazed hand and minor injuries.

The judge’s decision was reinforced by newly surfaced footage from a security camera near the crime scene, providing additional clarity to previously presented video evidence. The newly revealed footage captured gunshots synchronized with timestamps from the initial video. It showed Rocky swiftly leaving the scene after the incident, corroborating earlier claims.

The footage preceding the shooting depicted a physical altercation between the two individuals, during which Rocky was purportedly concealing a handgun behind his back. The judge emphasized that the preliminary hearing aimed to establish probable cause, and the trial would adhere to a higher standard of evidence.

A$AP Rocky, who is in a relationship with pop star Rihanna and has two children, is currently free on $550,000 bail. If convicted, he could face up to nine years in prison. The upcoming trial will further examine the evidence and testimony, determining the rapper’s legal fate in relation to the 2021 Hollywood shooting.

Media personality Daddy Freeze has defended his past friendship with convicted internet fraudster Hushpuppi, revealing that he stood by him when others turned their backs.

In a video shared by Tunde Ednut, Daddy Freeze disclosed that despite widespread criticism of Hushpuppi, he refuses to condemn him because of the support he received during a difficult period.

“Hushpuppi has never given me money before, not even $1. But he gave me friendship when nobody wanted to be my friend because they believed I was the devil,” he said.

Recalling their first meeting, he shared, “The first time I met Hushpuppi was when I was invited to Dubai along with some influencers. At the time, I had already started the #FreeTheSheeple movement.

“The influencers didn’t like me, the church I attended for 10 years rejected me, and everyone abandoned me. Then Hushpuppi sent me a DM saying, ‘Where are you? Come over.’”

Daddy Freeze acknowledged that he may have suspected Hushpuppi’s wealth was not legitimate but emphasized that it didn’t change the kindness he received.

“Why won’t I be friends with someone who was my friend? How am I going to be angry with him?

“I might have guessed that his money was not legit, but like Davido said in one of his songs, ‘Dey for who dey for you.’”

His remarks have since sparked mixed reactions online, with some defending his stance on loyalty while others criticized his association with Hushpuppi.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has rescued 23 children from a suspected child trafficking syndicate operating under the guise of an orphanage in Kubwa, Abuja.

The operation, carried out on March 20, 2025, followed credible intelligence on suspicious activities at Mother Deborah Orphanage.

Police operatives from the Kubwa Division swiftly stormed the location and arrested the orphanage owner, Ijeoma Andy, along with another suspect.

According to FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the raid led to the rescue of a three-year-old child suspected to have been stolen from Kaduna State, alongside 22 other children aged between two and 14 years.

Investigations revealed that Andy could not provide a reasonable explanation of how the children ended up in her facility, raising strong suspicions of child trafficking.

The rescued children are now in protective custody receiving care, while efforts continue to track down other accomplices.

The police urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities via emergency lines: 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653.
