Residents and motorists in Lugbe, a rapidly growing suburb of Abuja, have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently address the deteriorating state of roads in the area.

In an open letter dated Wednesday and signed by Mr. Michael Nwaohiri, Convener of the Fix Lugbe Roads Campaign, the residents described Lugbe as a major residential and commercial hub in the Federal Capital Territory, home to thousands of civil servants, business owners and families.

They lamented that key access roads within the Federal Housing Authority estate have degenerated into failed pavements, deep potholes and damaged drainage systems, making movement difficult and risky.

According to the petitioners, the poor road condition has disrupted daily activities, endangered motorists and pedestrians, and negatively affected businesses.

The residents urged the President to direct relevant authorities to carry out urgent repairs and reconstruction, expressing hope for swift government intervention to ease the hardship faced by the community.
