The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Joash Amupitan, has described the ongoing Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council election as peaceful and well-organised.
After visiting polling units across Abuja, Amupitan told journalists that the Biometric Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) functioned efficiently, accrediting voters within seconds. He commended security personnel for maintaining order.
He said reports from most polling units were positive, noting that an issue in Abaji was promptly resolved with security intervention.
Amupitan assured that BVAS would continue to safeguard the integrity of elections, adding that the FCT poll was progressing smoothly.
