Peaceful Voting Recorded in Mawyeya, Gui Ward as Residents Express Hope

Residents of Mawyeya community in Gui Ward in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), turned out peacefully for the local election, with voting proceeding in an orderly atmosphere across polling points.

Speaking during the exercise, a community member who identified himself as Gata Philip said the process was calm and well-coordinated, noting that there was no disturbance throughout the period of accreditation and voting.

According to him, residents came out in large numbers, demonstrating commitment to the democratic process. He commended electoral officials and party agents for maintaining decorum and ensuring that the exercise progressed without disruption.

He added that the people made personal sacrifices to participate in the election, expressing hope that the aspirants would remember the trust reposed in them by the electorate.

Observers at the polling unit also confirmed that security personnel were on ground, while voters conducted themselves peacefully as they awaited the arrival of materials and cast their ballots.

As voting continues, residents expressed optimism that the outcome of the election would reflect the will of the people of Mawyeya in Gui Ward.
