INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, on Saturday toured several polling units during the FCT Area Council elections, as party agents and election workers raised concerns over low voter turnout and logistical issues.

At Polling Unit 016, APC agent Stephen Osadebe noted that of over 3,000 registered voters, only about 30 had come out to vote.

He also highlighted delays in the arrival of sensitive materials and called for earlier voter sensitization.

Some ad-hoc staff reported the lack of basic facilities, including chairs and tables. An NYSC worker described the turnout as “not very good, but not very poor.”

Amupitan assured stakeholders that INEC was committed to a smooth and credible electoral process and urged parties to collaborate in boosting voter participation.
