The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), recorded early arrival of election materials and ad hoc staff in the Abuja city centre on Saturday for the Area Council polls.
As of 8:15 a.m., polling units visited within Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) were ready for the exercise, with security personnel deployed.
At Polling Unit 16, Area 8, the Presiding Officer, Emmanuel Miracle, said officials arrived at 7:30 a.m. and were set for commencement.
Similarly, officers at Units 15, 072 and 073 confirmed that materials were ready ahead of the 8:00 a.m. start time.
Security operatives, including police and personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), were on ground.
At Unit 073, APC agent Salihu Abubakar expressed confidence in a peaceful exercise, citing the early deployment of officials and security.
