At least three persons were confirmed dead on Tuesday morning after a trailer loaded with cartons of Golden Noodles crashed at Tipper Garage Junction and fell onto two tricycles conveying passengers from Bwari.
The accident occurred at about 8:30 a.m., according to eyewitnesses at the scene.
Sources said four other passengers sustained serious injuries, including a pregnant woman who survived the crash but was badly hurt and rushed to hospital for urgent treatment.
A newborn baby was also found dead at the scene, with authorities yet to confirm whether the infant was connected to any of the victims or injured survivors.
The crash triggered panic around the junction, as bystanders struggled to contain the shock of the incident while emergency responders evacuated the injured.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
