As the 2026 local government elections approach, Hon. Eya Michael Okechukwu is emerging as a standout candidate for the City Center Ward, offering a tech driven approach to local governance.
Running under the Accord Party, Okechukwu combines his expertise as a cybersecurity analyst, robotics coach and professional photographer to bring innovative solutions to Abuja’s most photographed yet infrastructure challenged ward.
“Through my lens, I see the potential of our youth and the gaps in our infrastructure. As a cybersecurity analyst, I have the skills to secure our neighborhoods and ensure transparency in local government,” Okechukwu explained.
His campaign platform, the Secure Future Blueprint, focuses on intelligent security by deploying data driven neighborhood watch systems, creative youth empowerment through the launch of a Creative Tech Hub to train young people in digital skills and the arts, and documented transparency to ensure residents have clear visibility of how ward funds are used.
With the Accord Party’s motto, Oneness and Progress, Okechukwu is calling for unity and collaboration among residents.
Campaign officials say the party’s position as the first on the ballot reinforces its vision for a modern and inclusive Abuja.
Okechukwu describes his candidacy not as a request for votes but as an invitation to partnership.
“I am not just coming with promises; I am coming with a blueprint. Let us build a City Center that works for everyone,” he said.
For residents of City Center Ward, Okechukwu represents a shift from traditional politics to practical solution oriented leadership that blends technology, creativity and civic responsibility.
