Arsenal dropped points in the Premier League title race on Thursday night after a 1-1 draw with Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Gunners took the lead in the 61st minute when Noni Madueke headed in to put the visitors ahead.

Brentford replied 10 minutes later as Keane Lewis-Potter nodded home from a long throw-in to level the match.

Arsenal pushed for a winner late on, with Gabriel Martinelli going close, but Brentford held on for a share of the points.

Manager Mikel Arteta later said his side must improve defensively, especially against set pieces and physical play.

The draw keeps Arsenal top, but narrows their lead over chasing rivals as the season enters a decisive phase.
