The Court of Appeal in Abuja has fixed February 12 to hear appeals challenging the legality of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention held in Ibadan in November 2025.
The appeals are against the convention that produced the party’s current national leadership, following conflicting court orders issued before the exercise.
A Federal High Court in Abuja had reportedly restrained the PDP from proceeding with the convention, while an Oyo State High Court granted an order allowing it to go ahead, triggering legal disputes now before the appellate court.
The February 12 hearing is expected to determine whether the convention was lawfully conducted and whether the leadership that emerged from it remains valid.
Observers say the outcome could affect the PDP’s internal stability and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
