Amb Arowolo Emerges National YOWICAN Chairman, Pledges Continuity

Ambassador Ademola Arowolo has emerged as the new National Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), following elections held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the National Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.

The poll marked the end of a successful five-year tenure by Amb. Belusochukwu Enwere of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Bloc, who was lauded for achievements including nationwide youth empowerment programs, the introduction of YOWICAN uniforms, distribution of Bibles, and procurement of buses for all geopolitical zones.

In his valedictory speech, Enwere thanked God, the leadership of the CSN Bloc, and prominent figures including President Bola Tinubu, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and mentor Barr. Seyi Tinubu for their support during his tenure.

Amb. Arowolo, who thanked God and all stakeholders for his election, pledged to build on the legacies of his predecessor.

He promised that his administration would collaborate with federal and state governments, faith-based organizations, civil society groups, media houses, security agencies, and well-meaning Nigerians to advance the association’s mission.

Other key officers of the new executive include Enunuaye Onajite (Vice Chairman), Nehemiah Michael (Secretary), Dr. Joshua Jeremiah Dandaura (Assistant Secretary), and Sanusi Samalia (Treasurer).

Directors for various portfolios such as Ecumenism, Research, Legal Affairs, and Education were also sworn in.

The election and inauguration were witnessed by the General Secretary of CAN, Prof. Samson Fatokun, the Electoral College led by Rev. Fr. Boniface Idoko, bloc leaders, and zonal and state YOWICAN chairmen.
