The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned a 30-year-old man, Adebayo Deji, before a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ado-Ekiti over alleged vehicle theft.
The defendant was charged with conspiracy and stealing, following allegations that he and others still at large stole vehicles in 2025 at Iluomoba-Ekiti, within the Ode-Ekiti Magisterial District.
Prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the offence contravenes Section 421 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State (2021).
Defence counsel, Barrister A. A. Alaro, applied for bail, assuring the court that the defendant would not abscond.
Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted bail in the sum of ₦200,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to March 3 for hearing.
