Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman is set to join Atlético Madrid from Atalanta in a €40 million deal.
The transfer includes a €35 million upfront fee and €5 million in performance-based add-ons, with personal terms already agreed.
The 26-year-old, in impressive form for Atalanta, will travel to Spain for medicals before the move is officially confirmed.
Lookman is expected to play a key role in Diego Simeone’s squad as Atlético bolster their attack.
The deal, pending final formalities, highlights another milestone for Nigerian football in Europe.
