The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), held high-level talks with key United Kingdom development finance institutions yesterday to strengthen Nigeria’s financial sector and attract long-term investment.
CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso met a delegation from British International Investment (BII) and the British High Commission in Abuja, including BII Chair Diana Layfield and British High Commissioner Richard Montgomery.
Cardoso said the apex bank is committed to building a stable, trusted financial system that supports economic growth and expands opportunities for businesses and households.
“The CBN is focused on macroeconomic stability, credible monetary policy, and a transparent, data-driven regulatory framework to strengthen the banking system,” he stated.
