The All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, Haruna Audi Shekwolo, has pledged to make necessary sacrifices for residents if elected in the February 21 council polls.
Shekwolo said he has continued to enjoy strong support from his people, stressing that he would not bow to pressure to withdraw from the race, as his supporters believe in his track record and vision. He noted that his experience at the FCT Area Council Service Commission has adequately prepared him for the task of governance.
He promised to improve the living conditions of residents through better infrastructure, healthcare, teacher welfare, security and environmental sanitation. Shekwolo said his experience as a former Supervisory Councillor for Environmental Sanitation exposed him to the importance of community-driven development, citing past interventions in Ushafa community.
The APC candidate also pledged to renovate district heads’ palaces and offices, empower market women and small-scale traders, support farmers with inputs, and strengthen security through collaboration with security agencies, vigilance groups and local hunters.
