Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke, uncovered an illegal arms factory in Doma LGA, Nasarawa State, during Monday patrols.

Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu, acting Media Officer, said the soldiers found several fleeing individuals, arresting 26-year-old Baba Ogar from Arusu village while he tried to hide in a tree.

A search recovered six locally made pistols, production tools, N40,500, and a mobile phone.

Preliminary findings suggest the site was supplying firearms to criminal groups. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend others who escaped.

Operation Whirl Stroke’s Force Commander, Major General Moses Gara, praised the troops for their vigilance and urged continued intelligence-led operations.

He also called on the public to provide credible tips to help combat crime and ensure lasting security in the region.
