A five-day cultural and commercial event, the IPADE ASA Trade Fair and Show, has been scheduled to hold in Abuja from March 18 to 22, 2026, with the aim of promoting and preserving Yoruba culture while boosting small-scale businesses.
Organised by Ajànàkú Sòrósóró, the event will combine a trade fair with cultural exhibitions and entertainment, providing vendors with opportunities to showcase and sell a wide range of Yoruba cultural products at affordable prices.
Items on display will include traditional artefacts, herbal products, textiles such as Aso Oke, Ankara and Adire, beads, ready-to-wear outfits, shoes, jewellery and handbags.
The trade fair will also feature indigenous Yoruba food vendors offering local delicacies such as Amala, Ikokoro, Asharo, Adalu, Ewa Egbo, Ojojo, bush meat, palm wine, pounded yam and other foodstuffs.
The climax of the event will be the IPADE ASA Show on March 22, beginning at 12pm, featuring live musical performances, comedy acts, talent shows, bata dance, talking drum displays, traditional games and radio-style live performances.
Organisers disclosed that cash prizes will be awarded to the winner and runner-up of the talent show.
According to the organisers, the event is designed to promote Yoruba culture, enhance brand awareness, educate and entertain residents of Abuja and its environs.
It is expected to attract a diverse audience including students, families, professionals, entrepreneurs, traders and business owners.
The organisers also noted that the programme will serve as a high-impact platform for audience engagement and brand visibility, with opportunities for sponsorship, advertising and product promotion available to interested organisations.
Ajànàkú Sòrósóró said the initiative aligns with broader efforts to preserve cultural heritage while creating economic opportunities for creatives and traders within the Federal Capital Territory.
