Staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) have refused to resume work despite a court order directing them to suspend their indefinite strike in Abuja, insisting they will remain at home until their demands are met.

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria, sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday granted an interlocutory injunction compelling workers under the Joint Union Action Committee to halt the industrial action. The suit was filed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the FCT Administration.

However, workers said although they had called off the strike in compliance with the court order, they would not return to their offices until their grievances were addressed.

They maintained that the decision was peaceful and aimed at safeguarding their dignity and safety, insisting that FCTA staff deserve fair treatment and respect.
