The National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Abuja, has fixed Tuesday, January 27, 2026, to rule on an application by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, seeking to stop the ongoing strike by workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
Wike and the FCTA filed the suit against the Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC), which organised the indefinite strike that has disrupted activities in key government offices in Abuja.
The application seeks an order restraining workers from continuing the strike, picketing or blocking access to government facilities.
After hearing arguments from counsel to both parties, Justice Emmanuel Subilim adjourned the matter for ruling.
The strike, declared after the expiration of a seven-day ultimatum over unresolved welfare issues, has continued to disrupt public service delivery in the FCT.
